Yes, FN USED to be great and still make some fine products, but their customer service seems to have fallen on hard times. Luckily, you have many other brands to choose from.

FN Herstal - Gun Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I bought an fn forty nine 9mm. When you try to shoot it it will only fire a round when it feels like it.

I have to eject and it may fire the next one or it may not. Very unreliable for a company that talks about dependability.

I sent it back to the factory and they kept it about 6 weeks and said they couldnt fix it but they would sell me a new one with $100 off retail price. I wouldnt recommend doing business with a company that wont stand behind their products.

Where the *** did you buy an FN Forty Nine at anytime within the past 5 years!! How the actual cotton candy land *** did you expect FN to replace a firearm in 2016 that they discontinued in 2008!!

This was FN's first go at the striker fire platform and the pistol did not do well. The lesson learned here is don't but firearms that are discontinued due to reliability issues.

Incompetent

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

FN America customer service is absolutely incompetent. Do not purchase an FN firearm if you live in the USA.

If you do you will be unable to receive warranty service, as their customer service and warranty department are run and staffed by people who don't care about your firearm and are unable and/or unwilling to do their jobs properly. Mistakes will result in your firearm either being lost, stolen or incorrectly repaired. It will prove to be extremely difficult for you to get a straight answer from them when you call, and you will receive empty promises and outright lies about what has been done to help you and/or to correct the problem with your firearm. FN America has had reorganization recently in their customer service department and many of the key staff are new to firearms, and are improperly trained and under supervised.

If you own an FN firearm, sell it.

You have been warned.

Just another review from a suspected Glock Jock. I own 4 FN firearms, one bolt action rifle and three handguns.

I have never had to deal with the warranty department, this is because my firearms are properly handled, cleaned and serviced. If you did have an FN and it broke; I am sure it was operator error.

FN Herstal - Handgun Repair Review from Roseburg, Oregon

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Nothing has changed. They moved the repair division but must have kept the old people. I've returned a 5.7 handgun to them three times now because it will not shoot point of aim. Each time when it is finally returned it shoot where it did before. 4" low and an inch to the right. AND they retired it with the OLD target. Hard to reach a real person and then they just shine you on and never give the return call that they promise. Customer service at its worst!

Here is a thought. Learn to shoot?? If you have had to return a 5.7 even one time, its not the firearm; its you.

Resolved: Purchased a dangerous/dysfunctional rifle

Updated by user Sep 02, 2016

Issue has been resolved, FN made it right and sent the rifle back way before the expected 15-day turnaround. For this, I am completely satisfied and surprised by the outstanding service FN has provided.

Original review Aug 23, 2016
FN failed to communicate and contact me about a bolt within the Scar 17s that could potentially fail and explode, possibly injuring me or killing me. This is unacceptable and now I have an expensive paper weight sitting in a cheap piece of *** cardboard box. I understand some manufacturers have recalls like this but when it endangers my life directly, I take it personally. Also, if my rifle did injure me, my lawyers would be knocking on their heads for compensation due to negligence. If FN takes longer than 2 weeks to send this back to me. I'm never buying FN products ever again and neither will my friends or family.

Fn Herstal Fnx-45 Gun Review from Monroe, North Carolina

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Bought a new FNX. Since an rmr was supposed to fit on it, bought the optic.

When I went to put the optic on I found that when gun was manufactured, they had torqued down the mounting screw so hard they were impossible to remove. Using the tool that came with the gun, I stripped the top of the screw off. Tried to call customer service, got messsge that the voice box was full and then they hung up. Called repair, again same message and hang up.

Then called main line and got routed to a voice mail. They haven't called me back. Their customer service is horrible. If you have a problem, don't think they will help you.

You will spend hours on the phone wasting your time. By a HK 23 or a Xdm, not an FN.

The only bad tool here is you, if you are ever unsure about something, take your firearm to a gunsmith. 25 bucks and boom!

your new sight is attached properly. This post was clearly typed by a person that has never liked FN.

I know this because you gave suggestions of the firearms people should buy. Probably all the ones you own.

Well, it's now September 10, and I am still waiting for my call to be returned. A warranty is dot hoses if the company ignores you when you have a problem.

Scar 17S waiting on replacement barrel

Sent to FNUSA and they confirmed receipt in April 2016. I have been calling and emailing for status and keep being told " waiting on shipment from Belgium" , there are row boats that can make that trip faster......I am completely frustrated with the lack of concern on replying with a legitimate date to expect delivery. I have even contact Brownells because FNH keeps mentioning them as a source to follow up with ( doesn't make sense ). Todate not one email or call has been returned and I have to constantly call them to get any update ......and get same answer......delay, delay, delay I don't know what to do, is the next step necessary a legal one......all I ask is for a solid date sometime in my lifetime......geez

Terrible Customer Service

I currently own an FN .40 and was looking to purchase a home defense shotgun. Through an NRA trainer program I was able to place an order directly with FN.

I followed the instructions and faxed the order to the fax number indicated on the order form. A week after the order I had yet to receive a confirmation. I sent an email inquiry and left 3 voice messages (all with a different person). I never heard back from anyone.

I finally spoke to someone who claimed they had fired a bunch of people and that is why things were the way they were. They never found my order.

What a horribly frustrating experience. I will be purchasing the firearm from a different manufacturer.

*** Customer Service

I bought a FNS9 when it first came out and i love it but, the rail that holds the backstrap and the backstrap retention spring broke causing my backstrap to slide off the pistol. I contacted FNH to at the very least request a price to replace the entire lower, i was told that no price will be given until i send my gun in to FNH. There are no representatives in the state of GA to be able to communicate with or to explain the problem without having to send the gun directly to FNH. All i want to know is how much it would cost to repair or replace the needed part.

FNH great guns terrible customer service

So i bought an FNP 40 back in September and it is a great gun i call the company to order a smaller back strap for my small hands back in November when they had my gun in service at the shop they said $5 and they will ship it back to me with my gun. So i paid and i got my gun back a week later with the back strap for a different gun so i called them and they said they were sorry and that i should send it back and they will send me another one so i mailed it back and then the charged me another $5 and they again sent me the wrong back strap so again in January i ordered it again and they have still not yet shipped me the back strap. Not everything is wrong with FNH i sent the gun to there gun smiths to give me a trigger job and they did an amazing job and they got me my gun back fast...

Fraudulent Sale

Mislead and sold a fraudulent product. FM Herstal Ammunition. Showed one product in the photo and shipped another. These people are cheats and liars. They overcharged for an item and claimed it was no longer available. FN Herstal Ammunition. SS195. The fact is there is plenty of it and it is not rare or discontinued ammunition. These people need to be put out of business. They are lying about their products, and then shipping a totally different product, that the consumer can buy from other suppliers for half the price. I hope the go out of business soon and the ATF removes their license.
